What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Propulsion Test Engineer to support test-stand design, build, operations, and integration at a government-partnered test site in Mississippi. You will work on test articles (engines, high-energy components, and full stages) and help bring test infrastructure and processes to readiness for flight hardware.
- Support Design & Build tasks: P&ID and fluid system design (gas, liquid, cryogenic), 3D modeling, component selection, and fabrication work instructions
- Support Operations tasks: run test campaigns, control test stands via GUIs/automation, monitor telemetry and cameras, execute inspections, leak checks, and manage non-conformances
- Support Integration tasks: author and maintain work instructions, manage test-article flow, post-test processing and repairs, and coordinate with technicians and quality inspectors
- Help commission new test stands—manage fabrication, activation, and initial operations
- Perform preventive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting of test equipment and fixtures
- Continuously improve test procedures, GUIs, automation, and data review processes to increase throughput and reliability
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (engineers, technicians, welders) to meet schedule and safety requirements
Who You Are / Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate common power tools
- Able to deliver on tight schedules and develop creative technical solutions under pressure
- Valid driver’s license for on-site vehicle operation
- Willing to travel up to 10% to production or launch locations
- Willing and able to clear a U.S. government background check required for on-site work at the Stennis partner location
Nice to Haves
- Proficiency with 3D modeling and drafting (GD&T)
- Strong engineering fundamentals in thermal-fluid systems and structures
- Hands-on fabrication experience with complex assemblies
- Working knowledge of fluid components and P&ID development for large-scale systems
- Experience operating high-pressure gas, cryogenic fluids, flammables, or hydraulic systems safely
- Technical writing or documentation experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Hiring range: $90,000 - $136,000 USD (final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and job-related factors)

Clearance, Safety & Location
- This role requires on-site work at a government partner test facility in Mississippi and successful candidates must clear a U.S. government-administered background check for site access

- This is not a remote role; candidates must be able to work on-site
