What You’ll Do

This Propulsion Engineer role will support design, testing, and optimization of propulsion components and systems for aircraft and aerospace platforms. Typical responsibilities include:

• Design and development of jet propulsion components and sub-systems to meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in propulsion-related projects from concept through test and delivery, helping meet schedule and budget goals.
• Develop, execute, and support test plans; analyze test data and produce technical test reports to support validation and certification.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (design, manufacturing, quality assurance) to ensure smooth integration of propulsion systems into platforms.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend technology or design changes to improve performance, reliability, or manufacturability.
• Support documentation, requirements traceability, and configuration management activities as required.

What We’re Looking For

We seek candidates who can apply strong engineering fundamentals to propulsion problems and who communicate effectively across technical teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 0–5 years of relevant experience in propulsion engineering or related aerospace work (academic projects and internships count).
• Knowledge of propulsion system design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials used in aerospace applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret test data and produce actionable recommendations.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

The following are desirable but not required:

• Experience with gas turbine engine or component testing.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or other engineering/programming tools.
• Familiarity with gas turbine performance and aerothermodynamic modeling.
• Experience with NPSS, GasTurb, or other gas-turbine performance software.
• Experience using PTC Creo, Windchill, or similar CAD/PLM tools.
• Experience with ANSYS (Mechanical, Fluent, CFX) or other FEA/CFD tools.
• Familiarity with advanced manufacturing processes and emerging propulsion technologies.
