What You’ll Do

This Project Manager I position supports electrical construction work in mission-critical and commercial environments. You will manage small to mid-sized projects or defined scopes from kickoff through closeout and will be the primary point of contact for field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and the confidential client.

  • Independently manage assigned projects or defined scopes, ensuring delivery aligns with contract, schedule, and budget requirements
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, short-term lookaheads, and coordination plans with field leadership
  • Track project costs, commitments, labor productivity, and forecast financial performance
  • Prepare, submit, and track change orders and support negotiation within delegated authority
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to meet procurement and installation timelines
  • Manage procurement activities including material buyouts, purchase orders, and long-lead items
  • Oversee documentation processes (RFIs, submittals, logs) to ensure accuracy and timely processing
  • Manage owner billing including AIA pay applications, lien waivers, and collections follow-up
  • Participate in client and contractor meetings; report status, risks, and mitigation plans
  • Identify and resolve project risks and issues; escalate when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and site-specific policies
  • Support project closeout: punch list completion, commissioning coordination, and final turnover documentation

Qualifications & Skills

  • 1–3 years of construction or project coordination experience; electrical construction experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, installation methods, and project sequencing
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Familiarity with project cost components and basic financial forecasting
  • Proficiency with project management and documentation tools (Procore, Autodesk/ACC, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office)
  • Working knowledge of scheduling tools and coordination across trades
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; effective with field teams and clients
  • Organized, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic understanding of construction safety standards (OSHA) and site PPE requirements
  • OSHA 10 certification required or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe
  • Valid driver’s license required for travel to regional job sites

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No direct supervisory headcount required.
  • Provide day-to-day coordination and task-level guidance to subcontractors, vendors, and project support staff.
  • Support onboarding and coordination of subcontractors by confirming compliance items and required documentation.
  • May assist in training or mentoring junior project support personnel.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Work is performed in a mix of office settings and active construction job sites (commercial, industrial, and mission-critical/data center). Site visits will expose you to typical construction conditions (noise, dust, heights, variable weather). Reasonable accommodations will be provided in compliance with the ADA.

  • Frequent site visits and coordination with field operations; ability to traverse uneven terrain and climb stairs/ladders
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Required use of PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hi-vis, gloves, protective footwear) while on site

Position Type & Schedule

  • Full-time, exempt (salaried)
  • Standard Monday–Friday schedule with flexibility required for project needs; early starts, occasional evenings/weekends, and travel to local/regional sites may be necessary
  • Exempt classification — not eligible for overtime pay per applicable laws

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Entry-level project management coursework or certification (CAPM) is a plus
  • CPR/First Aid and NFPA 70E familiarity preferred

Compensation (posted info)

  • Estimated pay: $84,122 per year (estimated). Actual compensation will be set by the confidential client and may vary based on experience and location.
