Position Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Project Manager to lead infrastructure projects in Memphis, TN. This role focuses on planning, design oversight, permitting, construction support, and client coordination for roadway, utility, and site development projects. The position is full-time and on-site fieldwork is required; hybrid arrangements may be considered later with manager approval.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee project planning, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for infrastructure projects (roadways, utilities, site development).
  • Manage design deliverables and review AutoCAD Civil 3D drawings, plans, profiles, and details.
  • Perform engineering analyses to verify system sizing and performance.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Provide construction-phase support: respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, perform site visits, and document progress.
  • Coordinate with utility companies, contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to resolve conflicts and ensure integration with existing systems.
  • Lead risk identification and mitigation activities to keep projects on time and on budget.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and project staff on technical standards, workflows, and client management.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation and ensure compliance with contract documents and specifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
  • Proven experience managing infrastructure projects (entry-level to senior candidates considered).
  • Experience with common delivery methods (design-bid-build, design-build, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, specifications, and drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project resources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong client-facing abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle; ability to operate company vehicles as required.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check (random drug screens may occur during employment).
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred / Highly Valued

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and advanced Microsoft Office.
  • ESRI GIS experience.
  • Industry certifications such as Asphalt, Concrete, Erosion Control, Earthwork, OSHA10.
  • Completion of P.A.C.E. certification within 90 days of employment (required if hired).

Skills & Tools

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D; familiarity with civil/site design workflows.
  • Experience performing engineering analyses for utility systems and drainage.
  • Solid client coordination and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Familiarity with permitting processes and regulatory compliance.

Compensation & Work Environment

  • Estimated pay: $92,723 per year (estimated).
  • Dynamic mix of office work, client meetings, and fieldwork. In-person attendance for meetings and field visits is required.
  • Hybrid/remote flexibility may be considered in the future with supervisor approval.
