What You’ll Do

Offers entry-level support to the full life cycle of natural gas construction projects. You will assist with requirements gathering, project scoping, stakeholder coordination, design and construction scheduling, construction management, and basic financial analysis.

  • Support natural gas construction projects from initiation through close — track deadlines, scope, budgets and costs to help ensure on-time delivery of service.
  • Assist in developing project scope, schedules and milestones.
  • Review construction plans and support the development process, including economic evaluations, drafting contract documents, and negotiating installation agreements with developers as applicable.
  • Create and maintain stakeholder communication plans for developers, engineers, contractors, permitting authorities and internal teams.
  • Monitor and report project status; provide timely updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review scheduling data and help resolve issues that affect timelines or resource allocation.
  • Help maintain and improve design and construction project management policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with internal groups (engineering, operations, legal, right-of-way) and external partners (developers, permitting consultants, contractors).
  • Provide information and assistance to stakeholders and respond to requests for project-related support.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and maintain regular, reliable attendance.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in construction management, engineering technology, business administration, or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience & Skills

  • Up to two years of relevant professional experience is typical for this level.
  • Familiarity with gas distribution system design, construction methods, materials and typical project durations.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering construction plans, mechanical drawings and equipment specifications.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling principles and practices.
  • Experience with project management software and standard office tools (e.g., MS Office, scheduling tools).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to prepare reports, cost analyses, contract documents and clear correspondence.
  • Comfortable applying basic math, algebra and statistics to project tasks.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.
