Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Project Manager I to manage small to mid-sized electrical construction projects (or defined scopes within larger projects) from kickoff through closeout. This role is based in Georgetown, TX and combines office-based planning with routine site visits to construction and mission-critical/data center environments.

What You’ll Do / Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage assigned projects or defined scopes from kickoff through closeout, ensuring alignment with contract, schedule, and budget requirements
- Develop and maintain project schedules, short-term lookaheads, and coordination plans with field leadership
- Track project costs, commitments, labor productivity, and forecast financial performance
- Prepare, submit, and manage change orders and support negotiations within defined authority
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely, compliant execution of work
- Manage procurement activities, material buyouts, purchase orders, and long-lead item tracking
- Oversee project documentation (RFIs, submittals, logs, correspondence) to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Manage owner billing processes (AIA pay applications, lien waivers) and follow up on collections
- Participate in client and contractor meetings; communicate project status, risks, and updates
- Identify project risks and implement solutions or escalate as appropriate
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and company policies
- Support project closeout: punch lists, commissioning coordination, and final documentation turnover
What We’re Looking For — Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Working knowledge of electrical construction systems, installation methods, and sequencing
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents independently
- Strong understanding of project cost components (labor, materials, subcontractor costs)
- Experience managing budgets, tracking costs, and supporting basic financial forecasting
- Effective communication skills with field teams, subcontractors, and clients
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to handle multiple priorities
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions within defined authority
- Proficiency with project management/construction software (Procore, Autodesk, etc.), Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
- Basic understanding of scheduling tools and multi-trade coordination
- Knowledge of construction safety standards (OSHA) and compliance expectations
Supervisory & Collaboration Expectations
- No direct supervisory responsibility; provides day-to-day coordination and task-level guidance to subcontractors and project stakeholders
- Supports field leadership (superintendents, foremen) by facilitating communication, documentation flow, and issue tracking
- May assist onboarding of subcontractors and provide training/guidance to junior project support staff
Required Education, Experience & Certifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred (equivalent combination of education and experience considered)
- Experience: 1–3 years in construction, project coordination, or related role; electrical construction experience preferred
- Certifications/Licenses:
- OSHA 10 (required or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe)
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- CPR/First Aid and NFPA 70E familiarity preferred
- Entry-level PM training (CAPM or equivalent) preferred but not required
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Combination of office work and routine visits to active construction job sites (commercial, industrial, mission critical/data centers)
- Exposure to typical construction conditions — noise, dust, heights, confined spaces, varying weather
- Must comply with site safety requirements and use PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, gloves, appropriate footwear)
- Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods; traverse uneven terrain; climb stairs/ladders
- Occasionally lift/carry up to 25 lbs
