Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Project Estimator (Level 1) to join the project estimating team in Juno Beach, FL. This is a 1-year W-2 contract assignment focused on preparing and managing cost estimates across energy and infrastructure projects (renewables, transmission & distribution, substations, water treatment, 5G & fiber, hydrogen, pipelines, and fossil generation). This role reports to the Manager, Project Estimating.
- Note: No third-party or C2C firms. Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
What You’ll Do
You will support the estimating group by producing timely, accurate cost estimates and supporting documentation for projects across a variety of technologies. Daily responsibilities include:
- Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and definitive project cost estimates.
- Perform conceptual engineering and develop preliminary construction plans to define scope for estimates.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to review specifications and drawings.
- Develop pricing models, estimation tools, and maintain estimating databases.
- Conduct value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities while preserving project requirements.
- Perform risk assessments and define contingency plans for project uncertainty.
- Present estimates and value-engineering options to senior management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Track project costs and update estimates throughout the project lifecycle to reflect scope or market changes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and take direction from senior team members.
- Eagerness to learn and grow professionally in project estimating.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or practical experience in construction management, engineering, or similar.
- Experience with cost estimation software (e.g., PlanSwift, WinEst, CostX).
- Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
Compensation, Duration & Logistics
- Duration: 1-year contract assignment (W-2).
- Pay: $30.00/hr. — $35.00/hr. (range depends on experience and qualifications).
- Location: Corporate office in Juno Beach, FL with occasional travel to project sites for meetings and site visits.
- Employment type: Contract (W-2).
