What You’ll Do

This Project Engineer role sits on the SpX (Special Execution) Engineering team supporting special merchandising, promotional, and customer-specific programs. You will work cross-functionally to translate complex merchandising requirements into executable manufacturing and fulfillment plans that meet timelines, cost targets, and quality expectations.

  • Support small-to-medium SpX projects from intake through production readiness.
  • Work with Packaging Engineering, Channel, Customer Supply Chain, Supply Planning, Manufacturing, Master Scheduling, Master Data, Finance, Quality, Operations, suppliers, and other stakeholders to align timelines and deliverables.
  • Assist with kit/item setup: item structures, work definitions, packaging inputs, production documentation, and execution details to enable planning and manufacturing.
  • Create and maintain project plans, trackers, and action logs to monitor cost, schedule, quality, and execution targets.
  • Monitor progress, communicate status clearly, and escalate risks early with context and recommended next steps.
  • Partner with manufacturing teams and suppliers to validate build requirements, troubleshoot issues, and support production readiness.
  • Review intake data and dashboards to identify changes that could impact setup, production timing, material availability, or customer commitments.
  • Drive clarity in ambiguous situations by asking the right questions, aligning stakeholders, and documenting decisions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that increase visibility, reduce rework, and help the team scale.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technical field (required).
  • Entry-level to early-career engineering experience preferred; strong internal candidates with execution discipline, curiosity, and demonstrated ownership are encouraged.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through on action items.
  • Effective communicator — able to provide concise status updates, document decisions, and escalate issues with recommended solutions.
  • Comfortable influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Problem-solver mindset with the ability to identify risks, resource constraints, or execution gaps early.
  • Foundational understanding of manufacturing, packaging, supply chain, item setup, or project management processes is a plus.

Tools & Systems (Nice to Have)

  • Experience or familiarity with Oracle, Power BI, SharePoint, Excel, CAD, or similar systems is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with project tracking, master data, or manufacturing documentation preferred.

Benefits & Perks

Our client provides competitive benefits from day one, including but not limited to:

  • Robust health, dental, and vision insurance options.
  • Generous 401(k) savings plan.
  • Education assistance and career development resources.
  • On-site wellness amenities where available (fitness, food/coffee services) and other local perks.
  • A collaborative, inclusive environment focused on professional growth.

Who This Role Is Right For

You are early in your engineering career or transitioning from a related function into manufacturing or supply-chain-facing engineering. You enjoy cross-functional work, are curious about how products move from design to shelf, and take ownership of project execution and continuous improvement.
