Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Project Engineer based in Royerton, IN to support structural steel fabrication and construction projects. The Project Engineer will help manage project execution from preconstruction through closeout — focusing on safety, quality, schedule, budget control, and subcontractor coordination.

What you’ll do

The Project Engineer will:

• Support project planning, scheduling, and day-to-day execution for structural steel fabrication and erection projects
• Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation to maintain project controls and compliance
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to keep work on schedule and within budget
• Assist with preconstruction tasks including take-offs, estimating, proposals, and pricing
• Maintain and update safety forms, work plans, and project-related paperwork
• Use project software and spreadsheets to track progress, cost, and schedule; escalate risks and propose corrective actions

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• ~2 years of experience in engineering or construction (relevant internship experience considered)
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work with diverse teams, and self-motivation

Preferred (helpful, not required):

• Working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, Tekla, or similar modeling tools
• Experience with structural steel fabrication, Automated Storage/Retrieval Systems, racking, or construction site coordination
• Familiarity with change order management and subcontractor administration
