Overview
This Project Engineer role is with a Confidential Client in the Engineering industry. The position is based in Oakwood, OH with on-site work at a client site and schedule flexibility for remote work. This is a full-time role for an early-career to experienced engineer who will lead technical delivery for small-to-medium projects (typ. up to ~$500K) while working closely with program managers and multidisciplinary teams.
What You’ll Do
- Provide technical leadership for assigned projects, ensuring scope, schedule and budget alignment with program and customer requirements.
- Define, generate, and review project requirements and technical documentation.
- Perform technical studies to refine project requirements and recommend solutions.
- Monitor project progress and coordinate necessary reviews and approvals with resource managers and supervisors.
- Support project phase-down activities and document lessons learned to improve future projects.
- Apply engineering fundamentals to solve routine and some complex problems using standard procedures.
- Communicate effectively across disciplines to achieve project objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical execution for small/medium projects within program guidelines.
- Prepare and review requirements, drawings, and project deliverables.
- Track project cost, schedule, and scope; escalate issues appropriately.
- Coordinate internal resources and external stakeholders to obtain approvals and complete work.
- Analyze project performance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Work independently on defined tasks and escalate when guidance is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical preferred).
- 1–5 years of project engineering experience; experience with small project cost control preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Strong business and analytical acumen.
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills; able to work in interdisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to follow established procedures and apply engineering concepts.
- Authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility verification will be required.
Physical & Site Requirements
- Work performed at an active client site; role may require exposure to ambient temperature extremes.
- Extensive walking around construction sites, climbing ladders/scaffolding, working on elevated platforms and uneven surfaces.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
- Must be able to enter/egress project areas and use standard issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as harness, life vest, hearing/eye protection, and steel-toed boots.
- Day-to-day office activities (sitting/standing for extended periods, meetings, repetitive keyboard/mouse use).

Compensation
- Estimated annual pay (from source): $88,419 per year — listed as an estimate. Actual pay will be determined by Confidential Client based on experience and other factors. (No salary fabrication has been made.)
