Position Details

Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is seeking a Project Engineer to support construction project teams in Minneapolis, MN. This role is an entry-level to early-career position focused on learning field and office operations on active construction sites. Employment type: Full-Time / Contractor. Location: Minneapolis, MN.

What You’ll Do

• Assist project teams with Requests for Information (RFIs) — generate, track, and document approvals.
• Monitor and maintain the shop drawing log and coordinate shop drawing reviews.
• Verify field dimensions and support dimensional control to back-check shop drawing approvals.
• Coordinate and track vendor and subcontractor deliveries.
• Learn and follow site safety policies and procedures.
• Support site logistics planning and documentation.
• Participate in permit inspection processes and track inspection outcomes.
• Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
• Attend punchlist inspections, record items, and monitor completion.
• Help prepare and update the project schedule.

Qualifications

You should have:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a construction-related field (required), or a two-year construction certificate plus relevant experience.
• Entry-level experience is acceptable; internship or co-op experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost-coding systems.
• Strong basic math and organizational skills.
• Clear communication skills and ability to assume responsibility on-site.
• Willingness to travel and, when necessary, relocate to support project execution.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $68,600 — $85,800 per year (range may vary based on location and candidate experience).
