What You’ll Do
Assist the project team in the day-to-day technical and administrative support of one or multiple commercial construction projects in Northeastern NC and surrounding areas. This is an entry-level Project Engineer role focused on learning core project controls, documentation, and field coordination to keep work on schedule and within quality expectations.
- Learn to manage project schedules, material procurement, subcontractor coordination, and project documentation.
- Support Owner and Subcontractor Change Order workflows, RFIs, and project closeout activities.
- Perform frequent site inspections to confirm installations meet approved submittals, shop drawings, and quality standards.
- Administer project submittals (product data, shop drawings, samples, mock-ups) and track approvals to avoid schedule delays.
- Maintain and update contract drawings/specifications with Architect Supplemental Information.
- Prepare meeting agendas, record meeting minutes, and distribute to the project team.
- Participate in pre-construction planning, constructability reviews, and scope/bid evaluations.
- Work with mentors to learn and maintain safe working conditions and productivity best practices.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (Construction Management, Civil Engineering preferred but not required) or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Entry-level experience acceptable.
- Must be 21 years of age or older (role requires driving and field access).
- Valid NC driver’s license required.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Skills, Tools & Technical Knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; familiarity with P6, Spectrum, BlueBeam, BIM360, and Revit is helpful.
- Plan and specification reading.
- BIM coordination and basic Revit/BIM360 workflows.
- Scheduling fundamentals and record-keeping best practices.
- Understanding of construction means & methods and OSHA safety regulations.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and conflict-management skills.
- High emotional intelligence and commitment to values-based leadership.
