Overview
Confidential Client is hiring a Project Engineer to support onsite and office project teams on commercial construction projects. This is a hands-on position designed to develop your understanding of construction processes, document control, field verification, and site logistics. The role requires travel to project sites (typically a minimum of six months onsite per project) and is well suited for entry-level engineers or those with internship experience who hold a construction-related degree or certificate.
What You’ll Do
You will support the project team to keep projects moving, learn company processes, and gain experience in both field and office operations.
- Help generate and track Requests for Information (RFIs) and related approvals
- Maintain and coordinate the shop drawing log
- Field-verify dimensions and support dimensional control/back-check of shop drawings
- Coordinate and track Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries
- Learn and follow site safety policies and procedures
- Support site logistics and maintain updated office and jobsite plans (RFIs, ASIs)
- Participate in permit inspection processes with jurisdictions
- Attend punchlist inspections, record items, and monitor completion
- Assist in preparing and updating the project schedule
Who You Are / Qualifications
Candidates who will stand out have a combination of education and field/office exposure in construction.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil/structural engineering, or related field required (a two-year construction certificate plus 2 years’ industry experience may be considered)
- Entry-level role — previous internship or co-op experience preferred
- General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost-coding systems
- Strong math skills and comfort performing jobsite calculations
- Good communicator who can assume responsibility and collaborate with diverse teams
- Willingness to travel and/or relocate as needed to support projects
Compensation & Eligibility
- Salary range: $68,600.00 - $85,800.00 annually. Final pay will depend on the candidate’s experience, skills, and the position location.
- Employment Type: Full-time / Contractor (as applicable)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment verification required.
