Responsibilities
As a Project Engineer I supporting Confidential Client's Mission Solutions and Technologies work, you will help plan, coordinate, and execute engineering activities that deliver program requirements on schedule and within budget.
- Lead development and maintenance of project plans, schedules, and budgets
- Update plans, schedules, and budgets during execution to reflect changes
- Support preparation of technical review artifacts (PDR, CDR, TIMs, weekly IPT reviews)
- Plan for and enforce formal release of technical documentation and program artifacts
- Review and enforce configuration management of drawings, specifications, test plans, and test reports
- Identify and document project risks and support development of mitigation plans
- Maintain accurate project documentation (design specs, test plans, meeting minutes)
- Lead cross-functional teams to solve technical and schedule issues across short- and long-term efforts
- Assist with status reporting and communication to program management and stakeholders
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (higher-level degree may substitute for experience)
- 8+ years of experience in engineering roles
- Knowledge of core engineering principles and applied practice
- Experience working on multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate and coordinate work
- Basic understanding of requirements management, system design, and integration
- U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain & maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
- 2–4 years of relevant leadership or project management experience
- Experience with development and manufacture of electronics assemblies and systems
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA)
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and communicating with program management and customers
- Experience preparing project estimates, technical proposals, and managing cost & schedule
- History of baseline definition and maturation using integrated trade studies and alternatives analysis
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, parts lists, specifications, and test procedures
- INCOSE certification or experience with INCOSE processes
- Background in the Aerospace & Defense industry
- Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance (preferred: active Secret or Top Secret)
Essential Functions & Work Environment
- Occasional travel to customer or field locations may be required
- Primarily office or hybrid work environment
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally
- Prolonged periods working on a computer; requires hand and finger dexterity
- May visit project sites that require awareness of potentially hazardous conditions
- U.S. Citizenship required due to clearance needs
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated annual pay: $116,194 (estimated)
