The Opportunity
Our confidential client is hiring a Project Engineer I to support commercial, industrial, government and federal mechanical/HVAC construction projects in the Commerce City / Denver area. This is an entry-level, full-time, hybrid role ideal for candidates building a career in project management within mechanical construction.
- Pay: $28–$32 per hour (hourly, weekly pay cycle)
- Location: Commerce City / Denver, CO — Hybrid (on-site travel required up to ~40%)

How You’ll Make an Impact
As a Project Engineer I you will support Project Managers and field teams to keep projects on schedule, within contract, and technically accurate.
- Coordinate project documentation — submittals, RFI logs, change orders, and record keeping.
- Review mechanical drawings, equipment schedules and specifications for contract compliance.
- Work with project managers, superintendents and subcontractors to keep strict timelines.
- Track procurement and material delivery status (specialized HVAC equipment).
- Help resolve design conflicts and field discrepancies with practical technical solutions.
- Attend site visits and project meetings; travel to job sites as required (up to 40% travel).
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education or early-career experience in mechanical, HVAC, engineering, construction management, or commercial construction.
- Proficient reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, architectural plans and technical specs.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to track multiple deadlines and documentation items.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel up to ~40% to support job sites.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Internship, co-op or early career experience in commercial/industrial mechanical construction.
- Familiarity with manufacturer training, industrial HVAC controls, or construction safety programs.
