Position Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Project Engineer I to support commercial, industrial, government, and federal mechanical/HVAC projects in the Denver / Arvada, CO area (hybrid). This full-time, entry-level engineering/project-support role pays $28–$32 per hour and includes site travel up to 40%. You'll support Project Managers to keep projects on schedule and in spec while building a long-term career in mechanical construction.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Coordinate project documentation (submittals, RFI logs, change orders) to keep workflows moving.
  • Evaluate mechanical drawings, specifications, and equipment schedules for contract compliance.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, field superintendents, and subcontractors to maintain timelines.
  • Monitor procurement and material tracking to ensure HVAC equipment arrives as scheduled.
  • Help resolve design conflicts or field discrepancies with practical technical solutions.
  • Attend site visits and project progress meetings; expect up to ~40% travel across project locations.

Required Qualifications

  • Education or early-career experience in mechanical, HVAC, engineering, construction management, or commercial construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, architectural plans, and technical specifications.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to track multiple deadlines and documentation concurrently.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 40% to support job sites outside the immediate area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Internship, co-op, or early career experience in commercial, industrial, or mechanical construction.
  • Exposure to manufacturer training, industrial HVAC control systems, or formal safety programs.
