Position overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Project Engineer to support construction projects in Aurora, CO. This role assists Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project execution across estimating, contract administration, schedule control, procurement, quality/risk management and closeout. This position is ideal for recent graduates or early-career candidates seeking an accelerated path into project management within the trade & construction industry.


What You’ll Do

  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project operations and coordination.
  • Support cost estimating efforts including quantity take-offs and pricing.
  • Help prepare bid packages and participate in bid solicitation and analysis.
  • Assist with contract and subcontract administration and permit application preparation.
  • Maintain and update construction documents and as-built records.
  • Manage shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and project correspondence.
  • Coordinate material and equipment procurement and expedite deliveries.
  • Monitor project schedules and milestones; document coordination meetings.
  • Initiate and assist with change order preparation and negotiation.
  • Oversee close-out activities, including punch-list creation and completion.
  • Perform other assigned duties that support project delivery and client satisfaction.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, architectural, construction engineering, construction management or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in the construction industry (internships/coop experience welcome).
  • Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications and schedules.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to propose practical alternatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership, strong interpersonal skills and effective written/verbal communication.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with estimating or project-management software is a plus.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel or temporarily relocate for project assignments as needed.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship now or in the future.

Working conditions

  • Primarily office-based (main office or field office) with regular site visits; occasional outdoor work in variable weather and exposure to construction-site conditions and noise.
  • Light physical requirements (able to handle items up to ~25 lbs; standing, walking and site mobility required).
  • Fast-paced environment; workload may exceed 40 hours/week at times and may require availability outside regular hours.
  • High degree of autonomy and decision-making responsibility for project outcomes.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary starts at $75,000 and up; actual pay will reflect skills and experience.
