Position summary

Confidential Client is seeking a Project Engineer (EIT) to join their civil engineering team in Miami, FL. This role is ideal for entry-level engineers, recent graduates preparing for EIT, or junior engineers with ~1+ year of civil design experience. The position emphasizes AutoCAD/Civil3D proficiency and experience with stormwater and land development projects.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions for client projects.
  • Create and review engineering drawings, plans, specifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in preparation of calculations, design details, and project deliverables.
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets; make adjustments and report status as needed.
  • Work with senior staff and licensed PE to identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Support compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards throughout project phases.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation: reports, change logs, schedules, and status updates.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and deliverables to internal teams and clients.
  • Support multiple concurrent assignments under the supervision of licensed engineers.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • EIT certification highly desired or ability to obtain quickly after hire; entry-level and junior candidates encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Civil3D strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with project tools (Deltek Vision, Smartsheet, or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience or exposure to stormwater design, land development, WaterCAD/WaterGEMS, or ICPR is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills; good independent judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work within project schedules and budgets.
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and self-motivated.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related focus required.
  • Entry-level graduates and junior engineers (1+ year experience) are eligible.
  • EIT preferred or willingness/ability to attain EIT shortly after start.
  • Experience with retail site civil engineering is a plus but not required.

  • Estimated base salary: $55,381 per year (estimated; dependent on experience).

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
