Overview
Confidential Client is hiring a Project Engineer to support transportation construction projects in Burnsville, NC. This role suits a detail-oriented, solution-focused engineer who uses data to make recommendations, communicates clearly with teams and subcontractors, and helps drive safe, on-budget project delivery. This is a hands-on, full-time role where you’ll support project coordination, quality control, estimating, and material procurement.
What You’ll Do
- Document control (RFIs, submittals, change orders, claims)
- Support daily project coordination with the project team
- Procure construction materials and manage related logistics
- Perform Quality Control / Quality Assurance checks in the field
- Coordinate subcontractors and manage on-site communications
- Assist with survey tasks and project layout
- Take weekly progress photos and prepare materials for progress reports
- Manage construction equipment and on-site safety practices
- Support project estimating and cost tracking
What We’re Looking For
- 1+ years of related experience (construction or engineering project support preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred
- Internship, co-op, or prior construction experience is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with field crews, subcontractors, and project managers
- May require relocation depending on specific assignment location
