What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Project Engineer to gain hands-on experience supporting site/civil construction projects (earthwork, grading, utilities, and related activities). You will work closely with project managers, superintendents, field crews, and subcontractors to help keep projects on schedule and on budget.

• Support project managers, superintendents, and field crews with day-to-day engineering and coordination tasks
• Review plans, drawings, specifications, and field documentation
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, material tracking, and change-order documentation
• Help coordinate field work, subcontractors, schedules, deliveries, RFIs, submittals, and project records
• Support grading, excavation, earthwork, utilities, and other site/civil construction activities
• Prepare and maintain accurate daily reports and project documentation
• Communicate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and crews
• Learn and support construction technology such as Trimble/GPS/machine control, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and similar systems

Who You Are (Qualifications)

• Recent or upcoming bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field
• 0–2 years relevant experience (internships and co-ops count)
• Interest in excavation, grading, earthwork, utilities, infrastructure, or heavy civil construction
• Comfortable reading plans or motivated to develop strong plan-reading and quantity skills
• Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Trimble, GPS, surveying, or takeoff tools are a plus
• Willing and able to work on-site near Bradley, IL
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year (depending on experience)
