What You’ll Do

This Project Engineer role supports transportation construction projects and combines office coordination with hands-on site responsibilities. You will help keep projects on schedule, on budget, and aligned with quality and safety standards while supporting the project team.

• Document control (RFIs, submittals, change orders, claims, etc.)
• Assist and support the project team with daily project coordination
• Procure construction materials and manage vendor communications
• Perform Quality Control / Quality Assurance checks
• Coordinate subcontractors and subcontractor scopes
• Survey and perform project layout tasks
• Capture weekly progress photos and support progress reporting
• Manage construction equipment logistics
• Support safety management on site
• Assist with project estimating activities

Qualifications

• 1+ years of relevant experience in construction or transportation projects
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (Civil Engineering or related field advantageous)
• Previous internship, co-op, or related employment experience is a plus
• Comfortable working both in the field and in an office environment
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to support relocation if a specific role requires it

• Employment type: Contract, Full-time
• Location: Asheville, NC (on-site / field-focused)
• Estimated base pay (from source): $82,326 per year — estimated and subject to factors such as experience, training, and market conditions
• This role may be eligible for bonus and benefits
• Relocation may be required for specific assignments
