What You’ll Do

This entry-level Project Engineer role supports field execution and construction management activities across Texas & Oklahoma locations. Responsibilities include:

  • Support day-to-day onsite project activities: monitor crew size, self-perform hours, materials, quantities, and equipment.
  • Participate in QA/QC planning and safety culture—help maintain an injury-free environment.
  • Assist with punch lists, city inspections, safety and quality reviews, and project closeout tasks.
  • Post and maintain current drawings and specifications; track shop drawings and submittals.
  • Prepare and contribute to reports: daily reports, weekly progress updates, manpower and production tracking, percentage complete, and equipment logs.
  • Create procurement logs and follow up on deliveries per project schedule.
  • Support estimating and change management activities, including quantity take-offs and subcontractor proposal reviews.
  • Observe job sites with leadership, provide progress updates to support scheduling, and help close out projects (O&M manuals, as-builts, punch lists).
  • Learn and apply company best practices, Lean principles, and self-perform integration methods.
  • Build strong working relationships with trades, foremen, superintendents, subcontractors, and project team members.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to perform accurate, timely work and follow established processes.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Understanding of construction means, methods, and basic construction technology.
  • Familiarity with Lean process and continuous improvement principles.
  • Basic knowledge of estimating, change management, and labor productivity concepts.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build trade relationships.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field — OR equivalent relevant experience.
  • Entry-level construction experience; internships or cooperative education in construction are relevant.

Working Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • May require travel and/or relocation between project sites.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs.
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) and typical construction-site hazards.
  • Frequent: standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling.
  • Occasional: sitting, computer work.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay: $106,960 per year (estimated).
