What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Project Engineer 1 to support construction projects across Texas and Oklahoma. This is an entry-level, hands-on role ideal for early-career candidates who want to develop construction management fundamentals, participate in field operations, and learn company best practices while supporting project teams on commercial builds.

  • Support day-to-day field and construction activities across assigned projects in Texas & Oklahoma.
  • Help maintain project documentation, post updated drawings/specifications, and prepare reports (daily logs, manpower reports, progress updates).
  • Assist with QA/QC and safety planning; participate in inspections, punch lists, and quality reviews.
  • Track procurement items, shop drawings, deliveries and help maintain procurement logs.
  • Monitor crew sizes, self-perform hours, equipment, and material usage; support productivity tracking.
  • Participate in project meetings, prepare and distribute meeting notes and required documentation.
  • Support project closeout tasks: as-built drawings, O&M manuals, punch lists, and final documentation.
  • Learn and apply Lean construction practices and company construction fundamentals.

Responsibilities (Core)

  • Learn and actively demonstrate commitment to safety and quality on site.
  • Participate in estimating and change management processes (quantity take-offs, subcontractor proposal reviews).
  • Perform periodic site observations with project leadership.
  • Build relationships with trade partners, superintendents, and project team members.
  • Apply fundamentals of means & methods of construction management to support scheduling and productivity.
  • Identify and assist in integrating self-perform opportunities on projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field — OR equivalent relevant experience.
  • Entry-level construction experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with construction technology is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of construction trades, scopes of work, and labor productivity concepts.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in variable outdoor conditions.
  • Willingness to travel between project sites and work non-traditional hours to meet project needs.

Working Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling.
  • Occasional computer work and sitting.
  • May be exposed to extremes in temperature and to typical construction hazards; PPE required.
  • May require travel and/or temporary relocation between job sites.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay: $122,891 per year (estimated).
