Overview
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is hiring an entry-level Project Engineer to support construction projects across Texas and Oklahoma (multiple locations including Highland Park / Dallas area). This role develops field and project execution skills by supporting construction management tasks, quality and safety processes, scheduling, procurement tracking, and project closeout activities.
Compensation
- Estimated: $133,996 per year (estimated).
- Employment type: Full-time.

What You’ll Do
- Support day-to-day construction and field execution activities under project leadership.
- Participate in safety, QA/QC, and quality assurance reviews to help maintain an injury-free work environment.
- Assist with estimating support, change management activities, and quantity take-offs.
- Monitor on-site metrics: crew sizes, self-perform hours, materials, equipment and production tracking.
- Help prepare and maintain project documentation: daily reports, progress reports, procurement logs, shop drawing trackers, and as-built information.
- Support punch lists, city inspections, and final project closeout tasks (O&M manuals, turnover documentation).
- Post and maintain current drawings and specifications.
- Attend and help organize project meetings; distribute meeting minutes and follow-up items.
- Provide progress updates that support scheduling and productivity analysis.
- Build relationships with trades, foremen, superintendents and subcontractors to support team collaboration.
- Learn and apply Lean construction principles and company best-practice standards.
- Identify and support field self-perform opportunities where applicable.
Who You Are / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field — OR equivalent relevant experience.
- Entry-level construction experience; interest in on-site project engineering and construction management.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity or willingness to learn Lean process and construction technologies.
- Ability to apply fundamentals of construction means and methods.
- Comfortable building relationships with field trades and project team members.
- Able to perform accurate, timely work and support project productivity assessments.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform frequent on-site activity (standing, walking, climbing, bending).
Working Conditions & Travel
- May require travel between project sites across Texas and Oklahoma.
- May require non-traditional hours to meet field and project needs.
- Work may be performed in variable weather or temperature conditions.
- Frequent physical activity in the field; occasional computer work in the office.
