Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer (Project Engineer 1) to support construction project execution in Glendale, CO. This hands-on role helps manage daily field activities, supports quality and safety processes, and contributes to project documentation and closeout. The position provides a clear career path to Project Engineer 2.


What You’ll Do

  • Learn and participate in site safety and quality practices to support an injury-free environment.
  • Support QA/QC planning and follow-through for assigned tasks.
  • Assist with estimating and change-management activities, including quantity take-offs and reviewing subcontractor proposals.
  • Monitor onsite resources: crew sizes, self-perform hours, materials, quantities, and equipment.
  • Support punch lists, city inspections, safety reviews, and quality reviews; prepare related documentation.
  • Post and maintain current drawings and specifications.
  • Organize and attend project meetings; prepare and distribute meeting minutes and required documentation.
  • Prepare and submit project reports: daily reports, weekly progress, manpower, production schedules, equipment tracking, and percentage complete.
  • Conduct periodic site observations with project leadership.
  • Create procurement logs tied to project schedules and follow up on shop drawings and deliveries.
  • Provide progress updates to help maintain the project schedule.
  • Support project closeout tasks (punch list, O&M manuals, as-built drawings).
  • Learn and apply company best practices, lean methods, and self-perform integration.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform accurate, timely work and follow direction.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Basic understanding of construction means and methods.
  • Familiarity with Lean principles and construction technology (as used on projects).
  • Ability to assess and help optimize labor productivity.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with foremen, superintendents, subcontractors, and trades.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment and learning from more experienced project staff.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Entry-level construction experience is acceptable; internships or co-op experience helpful.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • May require travel, relocation, or non-traditional hours to meet project needs.
  • May be exposed to extreme weather conditions (hot or cold).
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching above shoulder, pushing, and pulling; occasional sitting and computer work.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Colorado base compensation: $79,000 – $81,000 per year, depending on experience. Exceptional candidates may be considered at higher pay based on demonstrated performance.
  • Eligible for target bonus based on individual and company performance.
  • Benefits package: Professional Non-Union (details available via the employer’s benefits overview).
