Confidential Client is hiring a Project Engineer 1 to support construction projects across multiple locations in Texas and Oklahoma (examples: Austin, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, El Paso, Oklahoma City, Tulsa). This entry-level, full-time role is focused on hands-on project support, field execution, and learning construction fundamentals with a clear career path to Project Engineer 2.

What You’ll Do
As a Project Engineer 1 you will support project teams in the field and office to ensure safe, on‑time, and quality delivery. Typical responsibilities include:
- Assist with day-to-day construction management tasks and apply company best practices.
- Participate in QA/QC and safety planning; model a commitment to an injury-free worksite.
- Support estimating and change management activities, including quantity take-offs and reviewing subcontractor proposals.
- Monitor crews, self‑perform hours, materials, quantities and equipment on site.
- Participate in punch lists, city inspections, safety and quality reviews, and prepare related documentation.
- Maintain and post up-to-date drawings and specifications.
- Organize and participate in project meetings and distribute meeting documentation.
- Prepare and contribute to project daily reports, weekly progress reports, manpower and production tracking, and percent‑complete reporting.
- Create and track procurement logs, monitor shop drawings and deliveries.
- Provide progress updates to help the scheduling process and support project closeout (punch lists, O&M manuals, as-builts).
- Learn and apply Lean practices and identify self-perform opportunities.
- Build relationships and collaborate closely with foremen, superintendents, subcontractors and other project team members.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications and skills that support success in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field — or equivalent relevant experience.
- Entry-level construction experience; demonstrated interest in project delivery.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with construction means & methods, trade scopes, productivity concepts, and basic estimating principles.
- Knowledge of Lean process philosophy and construction technology is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform frequent physical activity (standing, walking, climbing, bending).
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours and travel/relocate as project needs require.
- Ability to follow safety standards and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive jobsite culture.
