What You’ll Do

Confidential Client’s Advanced Facilities team delivers Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As a Project Engineer 1 you will support field execution and construction management tasks to learn the building process and how Confidential Client delivers projects. This is an entry-level, hands-on role with clear career progression to Project Engineer 2.


Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and follow site safety and quality plans; contribute to an injury-free work environment.
  • Participate in QA/QC planning and support quality assurance activities for assigned tasks.
  • Support estimating and change management activities (quantity take-offs, review subcontractor proposals).
  • Work on site to monitor crew size, self-perform hours, materials, quantities and equipment.
  • Assist with punch lists, city inspections, safety and quality reviews and documentation preparation.
  • Maintain and post current drawings and specifications.
  • Organize and attend project meetings; prepare and distribute meeting documentation.
  • Prepare and contribute to project reports: daily reports, weekly progress, manpower, percent complete, production schedules, equipment tracking.
  • Perform periodic jobsite observations with project leadership.
  • Create and maintain procurement logs; track shop drawings and follow up on deliveries.
  • Provide progress updates to support the schedule and assist with project closeout tasks (operations & maintenance manuals, as-builts, punch lists).
  • Apply company best-practice construction fundamentals and Lean practices in daily work.
  • Build productive relationships with trades, foremen, superintendents and subcontractors; support team collaboration.
  • Learn to identify and develop self-perform opportunities on projects.

Required / Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field — or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Entry-level construction experience; willingness to learn on the job.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn Lean construction principles and construction technology tools.
  • Basic understanding of construction means and methods, trades scopes, and labor productivity concepts.
  • Ability to perform accurate, timely work and to collaborate across project teams.

Physical & Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as an essential function of the role.
  • May require travel and/or relocation for projects.
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs.
  • May be exposed to outdoor or extreme conditions (hot or cold).
  • Frequent activity: standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling.
  • Occasional activity: sitting, viewing computer screen.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated salary: $150,085 per year (estimated).
  • Benefits package: Professional Non-Union benefits aligned to this position (details provided by Confidential Client during hiring).
