Position Overview
confidential client is seeking Project Assistants to join their Boston office. This is an entry-level, full-time role designed to support attorneys and paralegals in a busy law-firm environment. The position is well suited to candidates planning to attend law school or those exploring a paraprofessional career in a large legal practice.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support attorneys and paralegals with practice-specific projects and day-to-day tasks.
- Organize and maintain electronic and paper client files to preserve integrity and confidentiality.
- Perform non-legal and factual research using a range of research tools.
- Assist with document preparation, proofreading, and clerical tasks that may be billable or non-billable.
- Manage multiple projects and shifting priorities under tight deadlines.
- Log a minimum of 1,650 billable hours annually (per role expectations).
Education & Experience
- Required: Bachelor's degree.
Skills & Abilities
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with standard office and firm software (Outlook, Word, Excel) and the ability to learn new systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong research, analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong proofreading skills and the ability to follow firm policies and procedures.
- A self-starter mindset with ownership and commitment to assigned responsibilities.
Compensation & Benefits
- Target salary for this role if located in Boston, MA: $60,000.
- Salaries may vary by location and candidate experience. Compensation may include bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits program.
