Position summary

Confidential Client is hiring a Part‑Time Project Accountant to support project billing and financial tracking in their Metairie, LA office. This entry‑level role focuses on invoice preparation, project budget updates, billing reconciliations, and coordinating with project teams and branch offices to ensure timely, accurate invoicing and collections.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare invoice submissions for government and private clients with appropriate documentation and backup.
• Maintain complete and accurate project folders and supporting documentation.
• Enter budget changes and variance adjustments in the company reporting system.
• Coordinate billing procedures with branch offices and respond to client requests for supplemental reports or backup.
• Communicate project financial status, contract modifications, and invoicing requirements to Project Managers and stakeholders.
• Review unbilled costs and unpaid invoices monthly to maximize billing and collection potential.
• Review sub‑consultant invoices for compliance with contract provisions and budget limits.
• Raise and articulate project issues clearly to both accounting and non‑accounting staff.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by project and company needs.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, or Business Administration.
• 0–2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with emphasis on billing and interpreting contract provisions.
• Deltek Vantagepoint experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize work, manage competing deadlines, and pay close attention to detail.
• Self‑starter who can work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team.
• Professional attitude and high integrity.
