What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Registered Nurse (Progressive Care Nurse) to provide patient-centered nursing care in a progressive/stepdown environment. The role emphasizes safe, evidence-based care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and professional development.
- Provide direct nursing care to patients on a progressive care/stepdown unit (telemetry-capable).
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition using telemetry and other monitoring tools.
- Administer medications and treatments according to policies and provider orders.
- Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and support staff.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education.
- Contribute to quality improvement, safety initiatives, and unit-based performance metrics.
- Adhere to infection control, patient privacy, and facility policies at all times.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements (must be met for hire):
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN registration/license in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program (ADN, diploma, BSN) or equivalent credentialing as defined by state licensing boards.
- English language proficiency sufficient for safe patient care, documentation, and communication.
- Ability to meet any grade/level scope and experience criteria required by the employer for progressive care assignments.
Acceptable education/experience pathways (examples):
- ADN or Diploma in Nursing — entry-level assignments.
- ADN + experience, or BSN for higher-level assignments per employer grade determination.
- MSN/MSN-equivalent or advanced degrees may qualify candidates for senior grade levels as specified by the employer.
Legal note: Candidates attending bridge/advanced programs or with foreign nursing education may be eligible under specified temporary or equivalency provisions if they meet licensure and credentialing requirements.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Stepdown, Telemetry, or Critical Care settings.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and telemetry monitoring systems.
- Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and patient education skills.
Compensation & Employment Type
- Salary range (provided by source): $79,708 - $141,396 per year.
- Employment type: Contract and Full-time opportunities may be available — final classification determined by the hiring organization.
- Pay, benefits, and exact employment terms will be set by Confidential Client and comply with applicable Missouri and federal employment laws.
Location & Other Requirements
- Work location: Columbia, MO (on-site).
- Must hold any state-specific licenses or certifications required to practice in Missouri prior to or as part of hire, per state law.
