Programmer / Data Analyst - Innovation & Efficiency Support
The Programmer / Data Analyst role at Confidential Client supports the Innovation & Readiness Department by developing automated tools, custom applications, and data-driven dashboards to enhance installation efficiency and operational readiness at MCAS New River. The position involves applying programming, statistical modeling, and data analysis skills to improve workflows, support decision-making, and deliver actionable insights for military readiness programs in an on-site, full-time capacity.

What You’ll Do
This role delivers automated applications, readiness assessment tools, and data-driven analysis that improve installation efficiency and support operational readiness for the Confidential Client. Typical responsibilities include:
- Automate repetitive tasks and extend Excel capabilities with custom functions, user forms, and interactive tools to streamline data processing and workflows.
- Design, develop, and maintain custom applications and digital products to introduce process efficiencies where none exist.
- Build and maintain data-driven dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, Power Apps, Python, and approved technologies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data collection opportunities across units and readiness programs.
- Develop, adapt, and validate mathematical and statistical models to evaluate courses of action and predict program supportability.
- Provide research, coordination, analysis, and planning support for readiness reporting and data collection efforts.
- Prepare clear reports and presentations for leadership briefings (e.g., biweekly updates, monthly SITREPs).
- Produce user documentation, training guides, and hands-on training for custom tools and processes.
- Research and apply advanced statistical and analytic methods to solve novel problems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree plus four (4) years equivalent experience OR eight (8) years of dedicated equivalent experience in quantitative science, computer science, information technology, social science, business technology, or related field.
- Practical programming experience in one or more scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), or R).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI).
- Familiarity with operations research and quantitative/qualitative modeling techniques.
- Strong data collection, cleansing, and analysis skills; ability to produce reliable findings and package results for senior-leader decision-making.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to build productive stakeholder relationships.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain installation access (DBIDS) and a Common Access Card (CAC).
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Prior experience building Power BI dashboards and Power Apps solutions for operational or readiness metrics.
- Experience designing end-user forms and Excel automation (VBA/macros).
- Background in readiness analysis, defense or public-sector data workflows, and preparing command-level briefs.
- Operations research, statistics, or modeling experience beyond baseline requirements.
Work Location & Schedule
- Employment Type: FULL_TIME
- Work arrangement: On-site in Washington, Washington, D.C. (Confidential Client site) — Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week. Typical shift 7:00 AM–5:00 PM.
- Planned Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 (annual)
