Position overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Program Planning and Scheduling Analyst to join a program management team in Palmdale, CA. This role supports integrated master planning, schedule development, schedule risk analysis, and cross-functional schedule integration across engineering, manufacturing, material, finance and quality functions.


What You’ll Do

  • Prepare, develop and maintain integrated master schedules and integrated master plans to meet program objectives.
  • Ensure program schedules are horizontally and vertically integrated with cross-functional groups (finance, engineering, materials, manufacturing, quality).
  • Track schedule progress and analyze variances using Gantt charts, PERT, milestone charts and earned value management (EVM) techniques.
  • Perform schedule risk analyses, identify critical-path issues, and recommend mitigation actions to program leadership.
  • Identify and resolve network logic conflicts and maintain schedule integrity.
  • Produce schedule status reports and metrics to support program decision-making and intervention on critical areas.
  • Support continuous improvement of planning processes and schedule tools.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years’ experience in program planning, project management, industrial engineering, or a related planning function — OR a Master’s degree with entry-level experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience applying Gantt, PERT, milestones and earned value concepts to program schedules.
  • Able to work a hybrid schedule in Palmdale, CA.
  • Ability to obtain U.S. Government Secret clearance. (U.S. citizenship may be required for positions requiring clearance.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the aerospace/defense industry.
  • Working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Excel macro/VBA skills for schedule analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with Deltek Cobra and Deltek Acumen Risk.
  • Prior experience resolving schedule logic conflicts and conducting schedule risk analysis.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Palmdale, CA salary band: $83,400 - $125,200 per year.
  • Compensation for the selected candidate will be commensurate with experience, education and location within the published salary band.
  • Confidential Client provides competitive benefits which may include health coverage, retirement savings plans, paid time off, and other employer-paid benefits. Specific benefits vary by position and location.

Work Location & Travel

  • Location: Palmdale, California (hybrid work schedule available).
  • Travel: Approximately 10% (as required by program needs).
