What You’ll Do
The Confidential Client is hiring for an entry-level Program Eligibility Specialist I to support public assistance programs. This role focuses on processing applications, verifying information, and communicating eligibility decisions — primarily during the night shift.
- Review and process applications for state-administered assistance programs in compliance with policies and regulations
- Verify applicant information (income, assets, residency, household composition)
- Maintain accurate case records and update case management systems
- Follow up with applicants to request missing documentation and support timely determinations
- Monitor ongoing eligibility and renewals for participants
- Provide professional, clear communication to applicants about eligibility requirements and application status
- Assist applicants in completing forms and locating resources
- Identify discrepancies and escalate complex cases when needed
- Prepare reports and summaries for internal review and audits
- Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive applicant data
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience in customer service, administrative support, case processing, or a related field
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and comfortable with keyboard/data entry
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases to meet deadlines
- Good verbal and written communication skills and customer-service orientation
Preferred qualifications:
- Formal education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Prior experience applying program guidelines and explaining policy to applicants
Certifications / Licensure:
- N/A — other job-related education or experience may be substituted where allowed by the Qualifications Review Committee
Compensation & Employment Type
- Salary range (provided by client): $47,397 - $70,148 per year
- Employment type: Full-time (with contractor hiring possible as indicated)

- Typical schedule: Night shift (as advertised)
