Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is hiring a Program Eligibility Specialist I in Batesville, AR. This entry-level role supports state-administered assistance programs by reviewing applications, verifying applicant information, maintaining accurate case records, and communicating decisions to applicants. This position follows state and federal regulations and requires attention to detail, strong customer service, and reliable computer skills.
Primary responsibilities
- Review and process applications for public assistance programs in compliance with established policies and regulations.
- Verify applicant documentation including income, assets, residency, and household composition.
- Maintain accurate, timely case records and prepare required reports.
- Follow up with applicants to gather missing documentation and support renewal processes.
- Provide professional, clear communication to applicants about eligibility, benefits, and application status.
- Assist applicants in completing forms and gathering necessary supporting documents.
- Identify discrepancies in applications and escalate complex cases when needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive applicant data.
- Support audits and internal reviews by preparing summaries and documentation as requested.
Minimum qualifications
- At least one year of experience in customer service, administrative support, case processing, or a related field.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and demonstrated keyboarding/data-entry accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to explain program rules to applicants.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple cases, and meet deadlines.
- Preferred: formal education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, or related field (or equivalent job-related experience as approved).
Knowledge, skills & abilities
- Ability to apply program guidelines accurately when assessing applicant information.
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping.
- Capacity to handle routine in-person interactions (escorting clients to/from lobby), extended phone use, and moderate periods of sitting and typing.
- Interpersonal skills to maintain positive relationships with clients and coworkers.
- Ability to learn and apply state and federal program rules; willingness to complete required initial and ongoing training.
- Ability to travel in-state occasionally for training (day or overnight stays).

- May require occasional in‑state travel for training.
- Physical demands: frequent sitting, phone use, standing for scanning/copying, and escorting clients within the facility.

- Salary range (provided): $47,397 - $70,148 per year.
