Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Program Cost Controls Analyst (P1) for a hybrid role based in Tucson, AZ. You will join a program finance team supporting high-visibility defense-related programs and help maintain forecasts, perform variance analysis, and support Estimate at Completion (EAC) processes. This position is a strong fit for candidates early in their finance careers who want hands-on experience in program financial management.


What You Will Do

  • Support development and maintenance of weekly and monthly sales forecasts, ensuring alignment with program financial objectives
  • Assist in creation and updates of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), including data consolidation and reporting
  • Perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly variance analysis to identify cost, schedule, and performance drivers
  • Contribute to annual Estimate at Completion (EAC) development and updates
  • Analyze program financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and communicate insights to leadership
  • Collaborate with Program Management, Engineering, Finance, and Supply Chain to support accurate financial tracking and execution
  • Produce ad hoc financial analyses and reports for program reviews and leadership requests
  • Help improve forecasting processes, reporting tools, and data accuracy through continuous improvement efforts

What You Will Learn

  • Hands-on experience in program financial management within a complex, fast-paced defense environment
  • Forecasting methodologies and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) development
  • Data analysis, financial modeling and reporting (advanced Excel and enterprise financial systems)
  • Cross-functional collaboration with program teams (Program Management, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain)
  • Defense industry financial practices including cost controls and program reviews
  • Business communication skills for presenting financial data and recommendations

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or a related discipline and less than 2 years of professional experience in finance or accounting
  • Experience with financial reporting, data analysis, forecasting, and/or process improvement
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, conditional formatting, data visualization)
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to contractual requirements for access to the financial management system

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet critical deadlines
  • Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills with all levels of management
  • Experience with SAP, SAP Business Warehouse, or equivalent enterprise financial systems

Location & Work Model

  • This posting is for the Tucson, AZ location. The role is offered in a hybrid model (onsite & remote). Candidates should be within a commutable distance to the Tucson site.
  • Relocation assistance is not provided. Commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s responsibility.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD (good‑faith estimate covering all experience levels). Actual pay will reflect role, experience, location, and skills.
  • Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, parental leave, and other offerings dependent on business unit and eligibility. Incentive compensation programs may apply for certain roles but are not guaranteed.
