Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Program Cost Controls Analyst (P1) to join a program finance team in a hybrid capacity. The preferred candidate will be located within a commutable distance to Mckinney, TX (other acceptable locations: Andover, MA; Forest, MS; Tucson, AZ). U.S. citizenship is required for this role due to contractual system access requirements. This is a FULL_TIME, hybrid position with hands-on experience in forecasting, variance analysis, and program financial reporting.
What You Will Do
This role follows third-party recruiting best practices: clear responsibilities, measurable outcomes, and alignment to program finance standards.
- Support development and maintenance of weekly and monthly sales forecasts to align with program financial objectives
- Assist in Annual Operating Plan (AOP) creation and updates, including consolidating data, analysis, and reporting
- Perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly variance analysis to identify key cost, schedule, and performance drivers
- Contribute to annual Estimate at Completion (EAC) development and updates, ensuring forecasts reflect current program status and risks
- Analyze program financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; communicate insights to program leadership
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Program Management, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain) to maintain accurate financial tracking and execution
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting in support of program reviews and leadership requests
- Support continuous improvement of forecasting processes, reporting tools, and data accuracy
What You Will Learn
- Hands-on program financial management experience in a complex, defense-focused environment

- Business communication and presentation of financial data, risks, and recommendations
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or related discipline AND less than 2 years of professional finance/accounting experience
- Experience with financial reporting, data analysis, forecasting, or process improvement
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, conditional formatting, basic data visualization)
- U.S. citizenship is required (access to program financial management systems is restricted by contract)

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range (good-faith estimate): USD 57,200 — USD 108,800 per year
- Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, parental leave, paid time off, and other variable incentive programs (dependent on business unit and eligibility)
- Relocation assistance is not provided for this role
