Summary
Confidential Client is seeking a Program Cost Control Analyst (remote). This role focuses on government contract invoicing and billing compliance for a single contract. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced with Costpoint or similar billing systems, and comfortable validating labor, ODCs, indirects, and other billable elements against contract and funding rules. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare, review, and submit invoices in accordance with contract terms, funding rules, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Validate labor, ODCs, indirects, and other billable elements against contract documents and task order requirements.
- Audit billing system entries (Costpoint or similar), identify and correct discrepancies to ensure compliance.
- Research and resolve billing issues by coordinating with program staff, Contracts, Procurement, and Accounts Receivable.
- Monitor funding levels, contract modifications, and obligations to ensure accurate and authorized billing.
- Collect and assemble invoice backup and documentation to meet audit expectations.
- Prepare cancelling funds actions, final invoices, and closeout billing packages as required.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate billing data and documentation.
- Track invoice status, assist with aged receivables follow-up, and support cash flow efforts.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to billing workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field OR High School Diploma/equivalent with 4 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Costpoint or comparable billing systems.
- Familiarity with government billing rules, documentation standards, and audit expectations.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and common financial tools.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Nice-to-Have / Bonus Skills
- Prior experience with government contract billing and accounting procedures.
- Hands-on experience using Costpoint Billing for government contracts.
- Familiarity with federal financial and billing regulations (e.g., FAR/DFARS) and travel-related rules.
- Experience supporting financial audits.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, macros).
Salary & Location
- Anticipated salary range (provided by client): $47,957 — $60,000 per year.
- Work arrangement: Remote (telecommute). Position is associated with Fairfax, VA for job-location purposes and may require U.S. residency for clearance and compliance.
