Key Responsibilities

Working under the program manager and alongside program specialists, the Program Assistant provides client-facing and administrative support across Economic Empowerment programs (Matching Grant, RSS Employment, Adult Education, and Walk-In Services). Core responsibilities include:

  • Assist Employment Specialists with client care and case management for new arrivals and established clients.
  • Help clients build resumes, complete job applications, and prepare for interviews.
  • Support job placements through application assistance, interview preparation, and transportation coordination as needed.
  • Help facilitate job-readiness classes and follow-up activities (6-month, 12-month, 180-day follow-ups) to support retention and outcomes.
  • Refer clients to community ESL providers and follow up to encourage consistent attendance.
  • Support instructors and volunteers in the classroom and help coordinate workshops (financial literacy, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, immigration topics).
  • Welcome clients in Walk-In Services, assess needs, and provide direct assistance or referrals for everyday tasks (forms, correspondence, community connections).
  • Maintain accurate client files, case notes, and timely data entry across programs.
  • Obtain client signatures on applications and program documents; handle check and mail delivery as directed.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Mature and personal Christian faith and commitment to the employer’s mission (see Legal & Compliance note below).
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle access, and ability to meet MVR standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and internet applications.
  • Experience in social services or comparable volunteer experience working with people in need.
  • Demonstrated understanding of case management processes.
  • Strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to prioritize, stay organized, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous case management experience (paid or volunteer) with vulnerable populations.
  • Familiarity with employment services and adult education for refugees and immigrants.
  • Ability to speak another language is an advantage.
  • Flexible, motivated team player who thrives in collaborative settings.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $18 - $20 per hour.
  • Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week).
