Program Assistant- Economic Empowerment

Role & Responsibilities
This entry-level, full-time Program Assistant will support Economic Empowerment programs (Matching Grant, RSS Employment), Adult Education, and Walk-In Services. You will work directly with program specialists to help newly arrived and established refugees and immigrants access jobs, build English and life skills, and connect to community resources.
Employment Programs Support
- Assist Employment Specialists with client care and case management for new arrivals and established clients
- Help clients build resumes, complete job applications, and prepare for interviews
- Support job placements through application assistance, interview prep, and transportation coordination when needed
- Help facilitate job-readiness classes
- Conduct 6-month, 12-month, and 180-day follow-ups to support job retention and outcomes
Adult Education Support
- Refer clients to community ESL and adult education providers and follow up to encourage attendance
- Support instructors and volunteers in the classroom as needed
- Assist program specialists to coordinate classes and workshops (financial literacy, entrepreneurship, digital literacy, immigration topics)
Walk-In Services Support
- Welcome clients during Walk-In hours, identify needs, and provide direct help or referrals
- Assist clients with forms, applications, correspondence, and connections to community resources
Administrative Support
- Obtain client signatures for applications and program documents
- Maintain accurate, timely client files, case notes, and data entry across programs
- Handle check and mail delivery
- Participate in staff meetings and trainings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- Mature and personal Christian faith — this is a bona fide occupational qualification for this role with this confidential client
- Commitment to the mission and values of the organization
- Valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and ability to pass MVR standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and common internet applications
- Experience in a social service setting assisting people in need (volunteer experience acceptable)
- Demonstrated understanding of basic case management processes
- Strong communication, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work respectfully with diverse populations
Preferred
- High school diploma or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous case management experience with vulnerable populations (volunteer experience acceptable)
- Familiarity with employment services and adult education for refugees and immigrants
- Ability to speak an additional language (preferred)
- Strong problem-solving, organization, and teamwork skills
- Flexible, motivated team player who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Details & Compensation
- Employment type: Full-time, 40 hours/week
- Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
