What You’ll Do
This Production Supervisor (C Shift) role is an entry-level leadership position on a manufacturing production floor. You will lead a shift-level production team, ensure production schedules are met, maintain quality standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supervise manufacturing functions across the assigned C (evening/night) shift; review production orders and schedules to meet established targets.
- Troubleshoot operational, process, and maintenance issues to minimize downtime and costs.
- Schedule and assign work to meet production requirements efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Enforce production priorities and standard operating procedures to maintain flow and quality.
- Maintain accurate shift reports and production records.
- Verify timekeeping entries (Kronos or equivalent) daily for assigned employees.
- Provide regular, constructive feedback; identify training needs and support employee development.
- Track performance metrics and use them to monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve team output.
- Coordinate with maintenance, QA, safety, and other departments to proactively resolve cross-functional issues.
- Participate in hiring, conduct coaching/counseling, and recommend disciplinary actions in partnership with HR when needed.
- Lead or contribute to safety meetings, training, and improvement projects to maintain a safe work environment.
- Document improvement initiatives and outcomes; perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- 4–6 years of relevant manufacturing experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 0–2 years of supervisory/management experience preferred.
- Proven ability to lead teams on a production floor and drive day-to-day execution.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality requirements, and production planning.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Able to multi-task, prioritize, delegate, and manage time effectively.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and comfortable with basic data entry/record keeping.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential information.
- Adaptable team player who can manage change and multiple projects simultaneously.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Work on a noisy, high-traffic manufacturing production floor; occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and other industrial conditions.
- Must be able to walk long distances and stand for extended periods; bending, crouching, and stooping may be required.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment for most of the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Flexible schedule required — may include evening/night shifts (C Shift), weekends, and holidays.
- Role carries responsibility for direct reports.
Compensation
- Estimated pay: $46,063 per year (estimated). Actual compensation will be determined by the confidential client and may vary based on experience and qualifications.
