Production Roaster
The Production Roaster at Confidential Client is responsible for daily coffee roasting operations, ensuring product quality and consistency through rigorous quality checks and maintenance of roasting equipment. This full-time, on-site role involves collaboration with multiple departments, data management using specialized software, and adherence to safety and manufacturing standards, contributing to the production of high-quality coffee products.

Responsibilities
- Daily coffee roasting to meet production reports and schedule demands
- Perform quality checks when loading each batch and post-roast inspections
- Operate and maintain Loring (and similar) roasters; perform sample roasting
- Perform weekly maintenance and documented cleaning of roasting equipment following GMPs
- Participate in and help run Quality Control cuppings to ensure product consistency and identify defects
- Accurate data entry using Cropster, Excel, and Google Docs
- Implement and maintain green-bean receiving, loading, and staging systems
- Collaborate with RTD, packaging, and other departments to support timely project completion
- Operate forklifts to move equipment and supplies (forklift certification required or willing to obtain)
- Follow warehouse safety and fire-prevention practices and contribute to a positive, professional work environment
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Valid California driver’s license
- Mechanical aptitude; ability to read technical manuals, system diagrams, and schematics
- Basic math skills for production planning and inventory calculations
- Strong organization, time management, problem-solving, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- Comfortable troubleshooting basic equipment and using software tools
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted to chest level
- Approachable, positive, and effective communicator; able to give and receive constructive feedback
- Willingness to work hands-on in a dynamic production environment and flexible with schedule changes
Experience & Tools
- Entry-level roasting experience welcomed; Loring roasting experience a plus
- Familiarity with Cropster, Google Workspace, Excel; experience with QuickBooks, Access, VisualCron, Shopify, ShipStation is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
