Role Overview
Confidential Client is hiring entry-level Production & Process Engineers to support manufacturing and production engineering at the Naval Support Facility (NSF) Indian Head. These full-time positions let you apply your engineering education to real-world manufacturing environments while working alongside experienced engineering and manufacturing professionals.
- Salary range: $83,000–$100,000 per year (range provided by the client)
- Location: On-site at NSF Indian Head (Indian Head, MD)
What You’ll Do
- Perform engineering duties in support of material and end-item production
- Identify and resolve production delays (procurement, material/part quality, equipment breakdowns)
- Prepare, review, and edit technical documentation (SOPs, technical data packages, specifications, equipment/facility drawings, P&IDs)
- Perform engineering calculations for process design, mass/energy balances, heat transfer, and pump sizing
- Assist with developing, documenting, and optimizing manufacturing processes
- Use engineering principles and data analysis to improve process efficiency, quality, and reliability
- Support process development, testing, validation, and implementation
- Develop and maintain process documentation, procedures, and work instructions
- Participate in continuous improvement and process optimization projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in aerospace, chemical, industrial, manufacturing, mechanical engineering or related field
- 0–2 years professional experience (entry-level)
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 — college transcripts required
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and statistical analysis for compiling, analyzing, and presenting data
- Coursework or experience in hazard analyses, risk assessments, SOP development, and technical documentation
- Strong organizational, planning, and written/verbal communication skills; attention to detail; ability to prioritize with limited oversight
- Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen (position not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations)
Location & Clearance
These are on-site, full-time roles at the Naval Support Facility (NSF) Indian Head in Indian Head, MD (approximately 30 miles from Washington, D.C.). Candidates must be U.S. citizens and must hold or be able to obtain a DoD Secret-level security clearance.
