Role overview
This entry-level Product Software Engineer position supports the design, implementation, testing, and release of embedded product software for a confidential client in the Engineering industry. You will work on embedded C code, collaborate with cross-functional product and software teams, and help deliver verified software features into production product builds.
What you’ll do
- Investigate product software issues, identify root causes, recommend and implement fixes, and document results.
- Develop, compile, and test embedded software using industry best practices and tools (code editors, compilers, static analysis, integration and hardware-in-the-loop test tools).
- Collaborate with product teams to translate stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements and deliver verified software components and builds.
- Contribute to software architecture, design decisions, and verification activities that impact product quality and performance.
- Support continuous improvement of product software development processes and tools.
- Participate in cross-functional design reviews and validation planning to manage product risk and ensure requirement verification.
- Coordinate with technicians, interns, or temporary staff as needed to support execution of tasks.
- Produce technical documentation that supports knowledge transfer and product decisions.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another appropriate STEM discipline is required.
- Early-career / entry-level: typically within 2 years of completing your highest-level degree.
- Strong background in embedded C programming.
- Basic familiarity with software development tools (editors, compilers, debuggers) and testing practices.
- Able to work on-site in Clifford, IN (role is on-site with flexibility; not 100% remote).
Preferred qualifications & skills
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline may be preferred for select roles.
- Experience with Python or Groovy is a plus.
- Familiarity with electronic systems, systems engineering principles, and product verification & validation.
- Experience from internships, co-ops, academic projects, or early-career roles in embedded/software development.
- Good written and verbal communication, systems thinking, and collaborative skills.
- Basic knowledge of descriptive statistics and data analysis for problem solving is a plus.
Compensation, location & start date
- Base salary range: $94,308 — $122,492 per year.
- Relocation: Relocation package available.
- Location: Clifford, IN (postal code 47202). Role is on-site with flexibility; not fully remote.
- Start date: 04/2027.
- Employment type: Full-time, Exempt — Entry Level.
Work authorization & eligibility
