Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Product Quality Engineer I to join an onsite Product Quality team in the Suisun/Fairfield, CA area. This is an entry-level, full-time engineering role focused on disposition of nonconforming material (MRB), supporting quality investigations, and helping drive continuous improvement across manufacturing and supplier interfaces.

Salary range: 62,900 USD - 119,700 USD (annual). This range is a good‑faith estimate that covers all experience levels for this role and complies with applicable pay transparency requirements.


What You’ll Do

  • Work safely and follow all site safety rules and procedures.
  • Support Material Review Board (MRB) workflows: review, evaluate, and process nonconforming material under guidance from senior quality engineers.
  • Prepare and document dispositions for discrepant material in accordance with engineering and regulatory requirements.
  • Support investigations into product and process issues; participate in root cause analysis and corrective action (CAR) activities.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Procurement to resolve quality issues.
  • Collect, analyze, and report quality data (scrap, rework, defect trends, first-pass yield, quality notification aging).
  • Participate in Quality Clinic sessions and continuous improvement projects to improve yield and reduce defects.
  • Assist with internal audits, compliance tasks, and Quality Management System activities.
  • Learn and apply aerospace quality standards, quality engineering tools, and manufacturing processes.

Must-have qualifications

  • University degree (typically required) with less than 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) access as required by the role.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for eligibility for this position.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related STEM field.
  • Internship, co-op, or project experience in manufacturing, quality, or engineering.
  • Exposure to aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with SAP, PLM systems (e.g., Windchill), or enterprise quality systems.
  • Basic knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, GD&T and engineering drawings.
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
