Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Product Manager to lead the roadmap for intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and edge-AI products that run on rugged edge hardware and ship to city, DOT, and infrastructure customers. This is a hands-on product role that sits close to engineering and to customers, focused on video detection, safety analytics, adaptive signal timing, and field-ready edge deployments.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and prioritization for the core ITS and edge-AI platform (video detection, safety analytics, adaptive control, hardware/software integrations).
  • Translate field requirements from cities, DOTs, and systems integrators into product specs, acceptance criteria, and release plans.
  • Work daily with engineering teams (computer vision, embedded/edge, hardware) to deliver reliable features that perform under real weather, lighting, and traffic conditions.
  • Partner with sales, distributors, and customers to define use cases, success metrics (detection accuracy, congestion reduction, safety outcomes), and packaging/pricing.
  • Define and track product KPIs; use deployment data and customer feedback to iterate quickly.
  • Help shape go-to-market materials, competitive positioning, and the product story for public-sector and infrastructure buyers.
  • Balance near-term customer commitments with longer-term platform bets (multi-camera fusion, digital twins, connected-vehicle interfaces, new form factors).

What We’re Looking For (Required)

  • 5+ years of product management experience shipping hardware + software or edge/AI products used in production environments.
  • Direct experience in one or more of: computer vision / video analytics products, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), traffic signal / detection systems, smart-city or municipal infrastructure platforms, or industrial edge AI.
  • Proven ability to work with technical teams on constrained, real-world systems (latency, accuracy, ruggedization, integration with existing controllers and cameras).
  • Experience selling to or delivering for government, DOTs, cities, or large infrastructure customers (procurement, compliance, field deployment realities).
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to turn messy field requirements into crisp specs and to represent the product with customers and partners.
  • Comfortable operating in a small, high-ownership company where the PM is close to both engineering and the customer.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Strongly Preferred

  • Hands-on familiarity with NVIDIA Jetson / Orin or similar edge GPU platforms.
  • Experience with traffic controllers, NEMA cabinets, analog/IP camera integration, or signal timing systems.
  • Background in B2B industrial or public-sector product management (not only consumer or pure SaaS).
  • Track record taking a product from early deployments to repeatable, scalable offerings.
  • Location in or willingness to be in Houston, TX (field visits, hardware development, and customer proximity matter).

Why This Role

You will own a product already deployed with U.S. cities and DOTs that directly affects congestion, emissions, and safety. The work is technical, tangible, and high-impact. You’ll work closely with a lean founding team to design and build in Houston and see deployments move from pilot to scale.

Work Style & Employment Type

This is a full-time role with an on-site preference in Houston, TX. Field visits and hands-on hardware work are part of the job.
