Product Manager
The Product Manager at Confidential Client leads the strategy and execution of tax preparation products, focusing on customer needs, regulatory compliance, and business outcomes. This role collaborates cross-functionally with engineering, UX, marketing, sales, and support teams to deliver innovative, AI-enhanced solutions that improve tax professionals' productivity and satisfaction. What You’ll Do
Confidential client is seeking a customer-focused Product Manager to own product strategy, roadmap priorities, and measurable business outcomes for parts of a professional tax preparation portfolio. You will work closely with Engineering, UX, Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Support to deliver solutions that simplify tax workflows, ensure compliance, and improve firm productivity.
- Manage the development, enhancement, and lifecycle of assigned tax product capabilities, ensuring alignment with customer needs, regulatory requirements, and business goals.
- Partner with one or more Scrum teams to apply Agile practices, participate in product and sprint planning, and help ensure delivery remains aligned with desired outcomes.
- Lead product discovery: customer interviews, market research, competitive analysis, and Voice of Customer (VOC) programs to identify opportunities and validate product-market fit.
- Translate customer problems and market insights into clear product requirements, user stories, and prioritized roadmap investments.
- Define and execute migration and transition strategies to support customer adoption of modernization initiatives and new capabilities.
- Monitor product adoption, usage metrics, customer satisfaction, retention, and migration progress; iterate based on data and feedback.
- Track regulatory and industry changes, assess impacts, and partner with stakeholders to deliver compliance-related enhancements on schedule.
- Contribute to product positioning, messaging, pricing, and commercialization efforts in partnership with Product Marketing and Sales.
- Leverage AI and generative tools to accelerate research, documentation, experimentation, planning, and product discovery activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or related software-product role.
- Demonstrated ability to gather customer feedback, analyze business needs, and translate insights into product requirements and roadmap priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable using data to inform decisions.
- Experience managing product backlogs, defining user stories, and prioritizing competing customer and business needs.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills across technical and non-technical teams.
- Customer-centric mindset with a passion for understanding user workflows and delivering measurable customer and business value.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced Agile environment.
- Familiarity with AI and generative AI concepts and how to apply them across discovery, experimentation, planning, and execution.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $68,900 – $118,050 USD (range provided by the confidential client and based on the primary job location). This role is eligible for bonus.
- Benefits include medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k), FSA/HSA, commuter benefits, tuition assistance, paid time off, and parental leave. Final offer depends on skills, experience, and hiring location.
