What You’ll Do

You will plan, coordinate, and execute engine and vehicle component testing programs that drive heavy‑duty product development and validation. You will own testing end-to-end — from test planning and hardware procurement through test article build, execution, data analysis, and post-test closure — while ensuring every phase meets established engineering procedures, standards, and safety requirements.

  • Develop and execute test plans that directly support heavy‑duty product development and validation program milestones.
  • Coordinate hardware procurement, instrumentation requirements, and test article builds to keep scheduled testing on track.
  • Ensure all testing follows engineering procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor test progress and validate data quality; resolve technical issues before they impact results or schedule.
  • Analyze test data and deliver CTRs, summaries, and actionable technical recommendations.
  • Lead post-test activities including teardown inspections, documentation, and review meetings.
  • Troubleshoot and repair engine systems, test cell equipment, instrumentation, controls, and facility systems to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to advance validation outcomes and continuous improvement.

Minimum & Target Compensation

  • Good‑faith salary range (employer estimate): $79,200 — $118,800 per year. Final offer will depend on qualifications, experience, and other lawful factors.
  • Relocation assistance: Yes (as noted by the hiring client).

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of diesel engine performance fundamentals and engine systems, applied to real test outcomes.
  • Hands‑on experience with engine testing, instrumentation, controls, data acquisition systems, and test cell operations. Experience with Cyflex and Calterm preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical judgment with the ability to isolate root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced testing environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication to keep stakeholders informed on status, risks, and results.
  • Demonstrated aptitude required; Associate’s degree or relevant certification preferred. Some roles may require a Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience Level

  • Entry‑level / early career professionals are encouraged to apply. Preferred candidates will have relevant experience in laboratory/test cell environments (non‑exempt, temp student employee, intern/co‑op, or early career technical/operations roles).
  • Familiarity with MS Office tools and standard data analysis workflows is preferred.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export control or sanctions regulations.
