What You’ll Do

  • Lead structured problem resolution for product and production issues: investigate root causes, recommend corrective actions, own resolution, and document results.
  • Execute core product support processes (PPT, VPI, CPS) to protect production schedules and product quality.
  • Apply engineering methodologies (Engineering Standard Work, iDFMEA, FIRG, 7-step problem solving, design review checklists) to enable sound, data-driven technical decisions.
  • Develop and revise CAD/3D models, engineering bills of materials, and detailed drawings to support both short-term recovery actions and longer-term design improvements.
  • Represent Product Engineering during machining non-conformance reviews, supplier quality investigations, customer quality escalations, and internal crisis management.
  • Support supplier continuity recovery efforts to prevent disruptions to the engine build schedule.
  • Coordinate across Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, Materials, Product Support, and supplier partners to deliver timely, quality-focused outcomes.
  • Own moderately complex technical scope and progressively expand responsibilities with experience.
  • Improve processes and help train or coordinate with technicians and student employees as needed.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an appropriate STEM field is required; relevant Master’s may be required for select roles.
  • Entry-level / early-career: designed for external candidates within 2 years of completing their highest degree.
  • Strong CAD/3D modeling capability (solid modeling and producing manufacturable drawings).
  • Formal problem-solving discipline (7-step or similar) and hands-on troubleshooting experience.
  • Data-driven engineering judgment: descriptive statistics, graphical analysis, regression, ANOVA, and design of experiments (DOE) familiarity.
  • Mechanical design experience — ability to produce design specifications and collaborate on validation.
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, production-focused environment and using data from multiple software systems.
  • Software/data-acquisition aptitude is a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; international students (F-1) should have approved CPT/OPT as applicable.

Compensation & Logistics

  • Employment type: Full-time (Exempt - Entry Level).
  • Salary range (provided by Confidential Client): $67,200 — $100,800 per year.
  • Relocation package: Yes (as provided by Confidential Client).
  • Work location: On-site with flexibility in Sharpsburg, NC (required).
  • Anticipated start date: 09/2026.
  • Early careers eligibility: external candidates within 2 years of completing their highest degree.
  • International student eligibility: F-1 students must secure CPT/OPT authorization through their university prior to assignment.

Preferred Skills & Tools

  • CAD / 3D modeling (solid modeling tools; ability to create solid models and drawings ready for manufacture).
  • Hands-on mechanical experience (professional or hobby-level).
  • Formal problem solving and root-cause analysis.
  • Component design and validation experience.
  • Statistical analysis tools and familiarity with DOE and regression methods.
  • Clear technical communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
