What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Product Engineer to join an engineering team in Melbourne, FL. Working across electrical, mechanical, software, test, optical, quality and reliability disciplines, you will help validate and improve infrared sensor products and test systems.

• Responsible for technical delivery of assigned tasks on time and within budget
• Design, develop, document and support testing of products, subsystems and test systems
• Review customer specifications and develop test plans and procedures to verify requirements
• Troubleshoot failures, analyze test data and recommend product/process improvements
• Support product validations and qualifications and maintain technical documentation
• Recommend and implement design or manufacturing changes to reduce cost and improve performance
• Identify yield limits and suggest changes to increase manufacturing margin
• Provide inputs for budgeting, cost estimates and scheduling for product support tasks
• Communicate clearly with internal teams and customers (written and oral)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Person status required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Electrical Engineering (or related)
• Entry-level (0 years required) — internships or co-ops are a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of fundamentals of circuit analysis
• Hands-on experience in an electronics test lab environment
• Ability to work independently and across multiple teams/assignments
• Ability to obtain or hold a DOD security clearance (this role requires an active clearance or ability to obtain one)

Desired Skills & Tools

• Programming: Python, .NET, C#, C, C++, Visual Basic or VBScript (any experience helpful)
• Test equipment familiarity: oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, SMUs, DMMs
• Experience testing infrared detectors or 2D imaging sensors is a plus
• Familiarity with Matlab, ImageJ or similar tools for image data evaluation/processing

• Primary location: Melbourne, FL (telecommute / remote-eligible)
• Schedule: Full-time; 9/80 program where applicable
• Relocation: May be available depending on role and business needs

Compensation & Benefits

• Estimated salary: $96,869 / year (estimated)
