Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Product Engineer (1st shift) based in Highland Park, TX. This position supports the development, testing, qualification and documentation of infrared/electro-optical sensor products. The role works cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, software, test, optical, quality, reliability, and systems teams to help deliver production-ready sensor products and test systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Support technical execution of assigned product engineering tasks on schedule and within budget
  • Design, develop, document and support testing for products, subsystems and test systems
  • Review customer specifications and translate requirements into test designs and verification plans
  • Run hands-on lab tests, collect and analyze data, troubleshoot failures and recommend corrective actions
  • Contribute to product and manufacturing process improvements to reduce cost and increase yield
  • Coordinate across disciplines to ensure specifications are met and documentation is current
  • Provide inputs for budgeting, cost estimates and scheduling for product support activities
  • Maintain accurate records for validations, qualifications and design changes
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of program goals

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Entry-level: 0 years experience required; internships or co-ops are a plus
  • Hands-on experience or coursework in an electronics/test lab environment
  • Basic circuit analysis and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams

Preferred / Desired Skills

  • Programming: Python, .NET, C#, C, C++ , Visual Basic or VBScript
  • Experience with MATLAB, ImageJ or similar tools for image processing and data analysis
  • Familiarity with test equipment: oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, source-measure units (SMU), DMMs
  • Test experience with infrared detectors or other 2D imaging sensors is a plus
  • Comfortable documenting test procedures and communicating technical results clearly (oral and written)

  • Primary job location: Highland Park, TX (Confidential Client). The role is listed as telecommute-eligible; applicants must meet U.S. location/citizenship and clearance requirements.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated base pay: $106,934 per year (estimated). Actual compensation will be based on experience and qualifications and in compliance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws.
